Question Cleaning my engine compartment?????

I want to clean up the engine and my engine compartment. Is it safe to spray it out with water or pressure washer??? What do I need to be careful with??? Any suggestions on cleaners or degreasers????

Any degreaser will work. I use the Purple something from Nappa. I don't recommend high pressure just use the hose and rinse the engine down avoiding the alternator. I usually start it up right away to blow any water that might have gotten into the alternator.

you can also put a plastic bag over the alternator as well

I use Engine Brite from Seal Gunk, it comes in a spray can you can get it at pretty much every part store. Then you follow the directions I always use a pressure washer to rinse my engine.
