Turbo noises

I just did a DIY intake. I read the turbo was louder, but I hear what sounds like a release of pressure very clearly now. is that the louder noise they talk about. It kinda sounds like the same thing you hear on a semi.

Also there is a fluttering sound that comes from the exhaust during exceleration (hear this before the DIY). I only hear it when I'm outside the vehicle, is this normal?

The noise you are going to hear inside the cab is the compressor wheel of the turbo. It is a 'whistle' or a 'whine'. It does sound like a big truck to some extent.

A fluttering during hard acceleration sounds like turbo surge. Bad for your turbo.
But you say you can only hear it when your outside the truck? Under any acceleration? It might be just that 'popcorn' machine sound some people with straight pipes hear. May be a normal noise. Let us know a little more about it.

Was the sound there b-4 you did the DIY intake or after? If after go back and check all of your connection points.

I get this same fluttering noise your talking about. I dont know what it is either. It only occurs at high rpm like when im passing someone on the highway and really get on it, but when it shifts gears again to normal driving (4th, rather than 3rd for passing) she sounds like a regular diesel truck agin without the fluttering.
