Ford Warrenty

Does anyone know if I can buy an extended warrenty from Ford to cover my powertrain?

If the answer looks promising from this thread I'm going to call up there and find out but figure I would waste my time on here instead of on hold by the dealership

I bought a 2000 F350 on March 1st 2008.

It has 71xxx miles on it.

I know it's old but since the low milage I thought that "maybe" I could buy a warrenty. I'm interested in not paying out the butt a few years from now when something goes in the 120xxx's or whatever might fail on her

Thanks in advance!!!

not sure from the dealer but an aftermarket company will sell you one.I have been looking on the internet as I purchased a 01' with 51,000 in Dec that is powertrained warrantied until 100k.There are alot of companies to look at that offer ext. varied coverage warranties.Be cautious and do your research on the place you choose, apparently this is the newest scam business starting up.

I did it.

I've had my 2000 F250 for over a year now. I bought a warranty from dealer. Not a Ford from ford, but a 2 yr/2400miles for $1200. After about 6 months my tranny went out. It was covered by warranty and fixed at Ford dealer. They replaced it for $300. In my opinion it was money well spent. I wish i had rolled price into my loan and not paid out of pocket. Still glad i did it.

Ford has started a deal until the end of april, any thing still less than 5 years old and less than 150k miles can buy a warranty until 200k miles and 10 years, but yours doesnt fall under it. sry, beware of aftermarket warranties, if you get one i would suggest GE warranty, its the only one i've seen worth having, i work at the dealership and most others dont pay nearly enough, they end up leaving the customer to pay normally $5-600 for something like a tranny or something big. Hope this helps.
