4x4 Question?
I am sort of new to this whole thing but I am looking at buying an 03 F350 PSD with the electronic 4x4 switch on the dash but also with the manual locking hubs at the wheels. I was just curious as to the advantages and disadvantages of this as opposed to shifting it into 4 wheel drive with the stick. I am just wondering what would be the best thing to look for as i have had some bad luck with vehicles breaking down in the past. Any help would be great.

You just keep them on auto and the hubs will vacume lock when put in 4x4 but if they fail for some reason you can turn and lock them yourself

The diggest down fall to having the switch on the dash is that it can fail. I had friend that had to drive about 40 miles with his pickup in 4low. Nobody laughed at him, ya right.
![]() I have an 04 but thank god I still have the transfer case shifter on the floor, so when I put the 4X4 in I know it is in.
