Spray them with PB Blaster and let them soak. Do this until them become free to move then disassemble and clean, lube and re-assemble.

+1 on the PB blaster. When I bought my truck I was a total newb to 4x4 and trucks period, I knew nothing. The guy who owned it never used 4x4, ever, it'd never been engaged in 6 years! So when a local garage said "those hubs don't move" I bought it. WRONG, ALL of these hubs move. Go buy some new O-rings and pull those hubs off and soak them in PB blaster. They will free up, just keep working them from the auto to lock positions while soaking them and watching the gunk run out. They've probably never been moved from the auto position and are stuck there. Stuff needs to be excercised once in awhile or it will freeze up, that's what's happened I'm sure of it.

I forgot to say yes another +1 on tearing them down and lubing them up good, you may as well since you've got them off the truck. It's not hard, check guzzles page.

I use my 4x4 pretty often and mine froze up. I turned them in December and then went to turn them again in February and NO TURN! -1 on using JB 80 on the outside. They won't turn yet.

How do you get them off the truck? I will do that some day...

Has anyone ever gotten the oring sizes? It would be nice to have work donate the new orings instead of buying them. We have a HUGE kit.

Yes, you take the hub-lock unit off with the wheel on the truck, just take the hub-cap off first. The unit is held in by a large round snap-ring that you can remove either with needle-noses or your fingers if your fingers are small enough. Then once the ring is out just work the hub lock around back and forth, up and down with your hands and pull on it until it comes out. DON'T hit it with anything! The O-ring should be replaced, it's cheap even at the dealership, I don't know the size of it, sorry. If it's really stuck bad like the previous poster just said, you're gonna have to tear it down and free it up that way, either way it's not that difficult. Usually a good soaking with PB-blaster does the trick though.

thanks guys, that sounds like a good project for this weekend. I guess those hub assembly's are pretty costly so if this will work then great, plus thats some extra money towards the cool stuff(ie faster, stronger, louder) Plus I have an abundance of PB blaster at work, so why not no better time then now to learn about this truck.
