So my truck got crunched

I had just picked up my daughter from the bus stop yesterday and turned down the next side street when I see a pickup coming from my left that doesnt appear to be slowing down. I hit the brakes and try to turn into the yard im at, well i was about 8 inches short of getting stopped.

She hit the bumper from the left which in turn crushed into the frame, which then shoved the whole front end over about an in inch or so. So now my steering wheel is about a half a turn off the fan is rubbing the shroud and im pissed off!!!

The stop sign that she was supposed to have was stolen, pole and all, so I dont know who is paying for this. Her or the city??

I went to get my camera to take pictures and when I get back the sign is there, I need advice from someone who knows about this kinda stuff!!!

THAT Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if the stop sign was missing..... shouldn't she have stopped so she didn't hit another vehicle?

No no one was hurt, my daughter was freaking out tho. Shes never been in a wreck. Luckily im a defensive driver and saw it was going to happen. If not she probably would have center punched me and I would have taken the hit since it was on my side

As bad as it sucks, remember it could be worse. If you were in a Honda there could of been some serious injuries with her being in a truck.

Not to say I wouldn't be pissed though. cause I would.

I would make sure they check the frame, insurance will try to get out of this. I hit a deer with mine and it bent the frame in front of axle when the bumper pulled in, just something to be aware of.

Ya there was a Police report Ill pick it up this afternoon, but she didnt recieve a ticket.

I came back with my camera about an hour later and the city replaced the stop sign.

I took the truck to my body shop buddy and he said its not a big deal but the frame is shoved over an inch or so but he said if I end up getting the shaft he will straighten the frame rails out for a couple hundred.

Hopefully Her insurance will pay, ive been wanting to paint the bumper and grill red so maybe I can now and not have to pay for it

Glad everyone is ok.

I feel your pain on the truck. I always hate to see a damaged truck.

Hopefully the police report mentions the missing stop sign.
