4r100 to 6 speed swap

Myh tranny is on its last leg and I'm having a hard time saving the dimes to get a quality rebuild. I'm trying to get in touch with a guy who is parting out an 01 powerstroke w/ a stick to find out if it would save me a few bucks to do a conversion to a 6 speed. What are your thoughts on this or if you know anyplace that fill work out a payment plan on a quality built tranny.

You will spend more on a 6 speed converson then a built auto... Get a loan and buy right...

Swapping your motor into his truck would probably be cheaper than the trans conversion.

EVen if i get the trans pedal assembly and shifter for a reasonable price and do the swap myself? The only other option i got is a local ford trans specialist that will assemble a monster box for 2200. No can do on the loan, had to do that a few months ago for the injectors

Going to have to get the PCM, the Res, the tranny, the pedals, cut a hole in the floor... You can if you want too... but its going to cost you more then 2k in the end... if you do it cheapo...

Did not know about the pcm. So i guess thats not the way to go. Lets just say for argument sake that if i could get the parts for under 2k, do you think it would be worth the effort, or stick with the auto since i do tow my jeep around a few times a month? I would like your oppinion since i've spoke with you a few times on here before and you seem pretty knowagable.

Sun Coast Converters Diesel Transmissions, Fort Walton Beach FL

I have about 2500 in parts in my tranny... all suncoast, thats Billet input, and a tripple disk TC... Total was $4000 installed.

You dont need the billet stuff so I bet you could get all the parts for about $1800 and be off and running.
