Garrett turbo 38R noise

I thought i would post the sound clips in here as well i have in the preformace treads as well. This is my 7.3 after shut down clip from right side front frame noise coming from turbo. any other 38r owners hear out of theirs turbo? less than a year old

I just hear the air noise out the filter on mine, don't have the rattle noise like that.?


2000 DRW CC 7.3
Exterior: 08 Exterior Clone, 22.5's
Engine Mods: GTP38R WW2, 5 inch exhaust,T500, 6637, TW tunes,DI Up pipes, 6.7 fuel pump fuel system.
Trans Mods: 6.0 trans cooler, JW Valve body,Billet triple disc converter.
Sound Mods: 7" flip out tv, 3-way speakers all around, 12" sub, 500 watt amp.
Misc:dieselsite coolant filter, max ac assist, BRV, IHD,gauges, CCV

Next up power rear window

That sure doesn't sound good.
I hope it's not the wheel kissing the housing.
I also hope it's not a shot ball bearing.

Let us know when you figure it out.

Lots of money spent at RiffRaff
Holley fuel pump, in tank mods, crappy riding leveling kit, DP-F6, 5 Gauges+Edge CS in dash, CB radio in Dash, over 100 goofy little mods
Still pretty slow, just less slow now.

You need to pull the intake and take a look... check for endplay that really sounds kinda scary.

I have looked at the compressor wheel it's fine I can really only hear it from exhaust side

Why not leave the down pipe and yank the turbo?
I'd be pulling it out to give it a real good once over if I were you.
