Re-use new design thermostat??

Anyone have experience with the new one piece thermostat + gasket??? It's a pre-installed o ring so the thermostat doesn't sit metal-metal on the water pump. Can you re-use these? It sealed like a champ the first time around. It seems good but I am not a fan of re-using gaskets if you shouldn't... Can't find a one piece anywhere around me, and I won't put in the old style two part gasket. I can probably grab one from the ford dealer tomorrow morning.

Reuse or no?> What do they do at the dealer?

I'm giving it a shot. The rubber wasn't all deformed or anything and it was less than two years old. I put on a tiny bit of black RTV on the mating surfaces and torqued to spec slowly. I have the billet aluminum flange. I'll fill and test in the morning... I'm hoping it's good, if not I can grab a new thermostat if I discover it's leaking.

Holding after a couple of days, I'm going with 'It's good' -
Talked to the dealer and yeah, they replace them each time.

you will never ever have to replace it again.

You know, this is exactly what I have! I still would have replaced the 'stat had I been able to get the part, but yea that housing is great. I bought new bolts last time around too. Things went together easy and I torqued them to spec so it should be all good! I would totally recommend that housing to anyone.

oh i didn't know you were talking about the thermostat itself.

i would go with the 203 degree thermostat from dieselsite too!
