Super Crew Bed Removal?
I need to remove the bed on my F250 crewcab 4X4. i've never undertaken this job and was curious if it is something I can do with a couple of friends or do I need to take it to someone who actually knows what they're doing?
P.S. the bed is already a little off center, about a 1/2" to the right, I noticed it after I bought it while looking in the mirror. Thank you, Derrick |

Welcome Derrick My Bro In Law Did His Own At His House With Two Of His Friends But He Didnt Have To Put It Back On And He Was'nt Very Experienced With That Type Of Work At All Then, (3 Yrs. Ago 99 F250) So I Think You Can Do It Just Pay Close Attn To How You Remove It And Maybe Mark The Holes That Your Bolts Come Out Of

There should be 3 pairs of bolts holding it in, one pair forward, one pair middleish and one pair rear, the fuel filler hose, and the rear light wiring which should unplug behind the rear bumper. Depending on if you live in the rust belt or not you may have to cut them off and use new bolts when you reassemble, or you may be able to just back the nut right off of them. I'm a little iffy reusing any type of load bearing fastener, new ones are cheap insurance against certain disaster if the old bolts fail with a load in the bed. Once you get the bed free you should be able to get a buddy on each corner to take it off, or if you have some kind of overhead crane/chainfall/comealong available you can run a strap around it and pick it off.
