I'll respectfully disagree with that statement. Stage 1 single shot injectors and a 38r are pretty standard mods that don't mess with reliability. Sure, trying to get 500hp out of it will cause problems, but I think of Stage 1 with accompanying tunes as similar to going from a Quadrajet to a Edelbrock 4bbl that you jet to fit the application. Better reliability, increased performance, and all around not bad.
Aside from that, I would paint the fender flares black to match the rest of the trim (though the white doesn't look bad), maybe install a 650 switch panel, tailgate damper, heck, shave the doors and install poppers since you like different. Diff covers, tranny pan, winch, 12v slave hookup to the bumper, with jumper cables modded to plug in, roll cage, blinker mirrors, custom badges...the list goes on. In the end, you're the only one that has to like what you do to it, so your imagination and wallet are the only limits.
No its a money pit because you always want more, im not concerned with reliability. But i have never been much for speed especially in a truck. Im looking to trade my dodge for an older trans am or camaro for that.
As for the flares i will some day repaint the truck all black so that will be done at the same time.
i want the f650 panel but i have a 6 speed and the riff raff manual one is like 300 bucks and i dont want it THAT bad for a little panel for gauges/switches when i already have the 4 gauge pillar and im not a "drill into my dash" guy
Shaved doors...really dont want the tuner look.
I have the 08 rear diff finned cover already, and zf6s dont have tranny pans. I dont mud with my truck so a winch and roll bar is unnecessary, I will occasionally trail ride but thats about it.
I do like the 12v hookup idea...might look into that although most of the time my ford is the truck that i kill the batteries in most of the time
and i like the tail gate dampener
As for blinker mirrors i was lucky enough to get the manual ones i have now without losing an arm and leg. the blinker ones are worth more than gold so unless i buy from ford(not gonna happen) ill be lucky if i find some less than 500, which like the f650 dash is not really something that im gonna spend that much cash on to get some little lights
Sorry if i seem picky but like you said im the one that has to like my truck and i have particular nuances when it comes to my truck. Just trying to do non-essential things that are totally played out because its fun to do new things that havent been done yet
