Oil Filter ?

I was underneath the truck today just doing some clean up and looking around and i noticed that my oil filter was discolored. you know how chrome blues when it gets hot it almost seems like the oil filter got hot and discolored. my truck has never overheated and the temps have been above 55. i just changed the oil and filter 1 week ago. anybody have any ideas. oil is still clean as a whistle. and i have no issues with the truck. thanks for any help.

What kind of filter? They can get warm, but not hot enough to change the color of metal. Maybe they used a cheap paint. A photo would really help a post like this.
