What's it worth?

Hi I am new to this forum and have had only Cummins in the past but I would like to try something new. I found a 2000 ford f250 7.3 all stock ex cab long box. 160k. Auto. 4x4. Little rust but pretty clean. He is asking 9500. I just sold my 24v Cummins and need something to drive! What do you all think and what is there to look for with the 7.3s? I have only heard good things about 7.3s. Thanks in advance.

sounds like a reasonable price, check kbb nad nada for values just to make sure.
watch the powerstrokehelp.com videos on youtube about how to buy a used truck, he walks you through everything you need to know and to look for, like oil blow by, etc.
ive got 174k on mine and no big repairs yet (knock on wood) as long as you know how to treat her

How easily/cheap is it to make a lil power with these? I made 400hp with a 97 Cummins for under 1000 bucks. Now I don't want a high HP rig but I want decent power to tow and play a little.

not gonna come near 400 for under 1000, more like 330 for 1000.

Shoulda stuck with cummins if you wanted cheap easy power I still have my 24v and will never sell it. I have been looking into buying a 7.3 though figured I work for ford as a diesel tech do I should at least own one. The ford I will only do minor mods to but my cummins won't be done until I reach my goal of a 800-900 hp daily driver.
