got a knock

I have a 01 f550 with what seems to be a lower end knock, is there a way to pull the pan and replace the mains and rods with out pulling the motor? Is it possible to remove the turbo and motor mounts enough to gain access ?

A lower end knock is pretty rare on these engines, from what I've seen, you know damn well when you've broke a 7.3 and it wasn't just being nice to it.

Sound like that? its there at idle but likely when driving, peaking in volume around 1500 RPM, especially on a hill or with load?

Injectors, and not much to worry about, extremely common and worried me when I was knew to the 7.3.. My E99 knocks like hell when it's -25C or less.

Yup, sounds a lot like that !! I have noticed that when I release the clutch and let it idle in neutral some of it goes away as well. It is also more pronounced when warm. I was going to replace the turbo soon with a 38r and was wondering if it would be possible to loosen the motor mounts raise the motor enough to check and possible replace mains and rods. And thanks for the reply
