Straight Pipes = Better Performance???

I was wondering if cutting out the muffler/cat is just for sound or will it improve ur performance a lil? I have the Magna Flow 4 inch with a Muffler wasnting to cut it out and go straight pipes. Advantages/Disadvantages?????

You won't notice a performance gain, but you will most certainly hear the difference Straight pipe it you won't regret it. Will help with egt's some also

When it boils down to it a motor is an air machine that needs to get air (yes I know fuel and everything else) in and out of the motor. The the easier you let the motor do that, the better off you are......think of it this way, is it easier for you to breath through a straw?

The only problem with this mod, is that Diesel is getting right expensive these days, and you won't be able to keep your foot out of it.

I did notice a small increase in performance after I did the muffler delete on my stock 3.5" exhaust. Next is going to be the DIY Tymar intake.

No 1/4 mile advantages or disadvantages for me, going from 4'' with a muffler to 4'' straight.

I agree with Southpaw.You WILL NOT be able to keep your foot out of it.I have tried to stop myself but i can't.LOL.It sounds so good.I love passing a van or SUV and hearing the sound reflecting off of it.WOW!
