Stock stereo wiring question
I put in an aftermarket stereo and bought one of the wiring tails to go to factory plug when hooking it up, but the rear speakers sound awfully muffled now. Are the rear speakers factory amplified and if so do you know which wire on the pigtail i need to run power to to get it working. Thanks

did you just put a new head-unit in? or did you put in new speakers and add subs?

all I installed was the new head unit, i know on my old suburban and tahoe( yeah i know different altogether but thought maybe ford was doing the same) I had to run a jumper hot wire into the wiring harness to get power to a factory amp for the rear speakers after changing to aftermarket head. There was barely any sound from rears and this is how my rear speakers sound in the ford as well now.

Im pretty sure theres no factory amp. I think the factory speakers run right off the stock headunit. With my truck, we replaced the speakers, and they played throught the stock head unit fine. Then about 30 minutes later we installed the headunit, sounded 10 times better. Then another 30 minutes later we put the subs behind the seat. Had no problems, just checked it along the way. If i were you i would pick up some new speakers, itll make a HUGE difference.
