your opinioin...rebuild or cummins swap

I am not in need of the engine right now but being it is the most expensive part of the truck I am starting to get prepared. I have thought about buying a worn out engine and rebuild it so have it ready when it it time to install but i have also thought about doing the cummins swap. I think i could do either for around the same price. I have a neighbor who is always finding deals on the 12v cummins so i can probably find the engine at a reasonable price plus the conversion parts. Either way i would reuse my 4r100 since I just had it done and it is under warranty for 3 years.

so which way would you go???

I would just get a low mile engine to drop in if you aren't planing on going to nuts on performance stuff later.

These things go forever, I've got one set aside for myself if I ever kill mine.
