Thanks for the welcomes, and thanks for the replies. The truck has 265 75 r 16 tires. I bought the truck with damage from a dealer so I don't know the history of the truck. I tried to find a phone number of who owned it but it was unlisted. Again thanks for the welcome!

also some one might have had large tires on it and had the spedo recalibrated for the lager tires... now with stock tires it is off a few miles per hour? is it 6mph faster or slower?

Hi there. I'm (we) are also new to this site. We just purchased a 1999 F250 Powerstroke 7.3, 4x4, ext cab, long bed, 164,000 miles. It's a 6 spd manual. It was a one owner and he used it to haul his camper. Everything seems to be working fine and running well except for the air bag light is on. I found a fuse that was blown and replaced it and the light started flashing..3 flashes then 2, and now it's on steady again. Everything on the steering wheel/column is working, ie: cruise, wipers, turn signals etc. What would cause the light to be on? Any ideas? This is our first diesel truck and so far we are happy with it. It tows our cargo trailer like it's not even there. It has alot of get up and go. Should mention that the previous owner took very good care of this truck and it was garaged most of the time. I'd appreciate any info you could give me. Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply, we do income taxes and this is a busy time. My truck is a 01 f-250 ext cab swb single rear wheel 4x4. It is possible someone had larger tires on it and then changed them. I am thinking the way it runs someone may also have added a program to it but I am not sure. I was told that the dealer can take it back to stock for me? I would then be able to do what I want with it. Do you guys have preferences on air intake for the truck? When I brought it home it had 5 inch straight pipe for exhaust but I also have a exhaust shop so we put a magnaflow stainless 4 inch from the turbo back with a muffler. It still has the stock air box, and we have used K&N and AFE, just curious what the boards think? Again thanks for all the help and sorry for the slow replies.

Go with the AFE intake.

I would get the PCM put back to bone stock so you can add whatever you want to the truck as far as future mods. Either by the dealer or by DP-tuner.

Just my $.02 worth

Thanks for the welcome SMX...... Would you happen to have an answer to my question or maybe someone else would...... Why or what would make the airbag light stay on steady? I found a fuse that was broke, replaced it, airbag light flashed 3 then 2 and now is on steady again. Everything on the steering wheel works, ie: cruise control, winshield wipers, turn signals. Would appreciate any insight on this. Thanks in advance.
