trailer brake wire harnes

I had a 03 exp. with a trailer brake on it. I removed it before I traded it in on my 03 f250 7.3 xlt. everything that i read online tells me that I sould just be able to plug the controler back in to my new truck. the only plug that i can find under the dash is not the same thing and the wires look way to small to handle the load of braking. I've looked in the manual and bought a repair guide and nothing tells me if i am looking in the wrong spot or if that is the plug just diferant.

HELP

Rich

not sure if they changed the locations on the 03 but if your looking at the dash it should be up and to the right towards the middle of the dash. Kind of a pain to get to

just like flyguy said remove the knee panel and it is up to the right kinda back in there it is hard to get to. i use to install B&W hitches and brake boxes at the last place i worked and the brake box harness was the same from 94 or 95 till when ever ford started integrating the trailer brakes (oem).

the connector should be the same...but as these other guy's have said....its kinda hidden. Take the cover off in front of your knees.....the connector is on the backside of the brace on the right side of the opening...
