Buyer info

I'm thinking bout buying a 99 cc drw with 70,000 miles on it looks like a old man had to pull a fifth wheel. What should I look for on this truck as far as problems go? They're asking 21,000$ for it. It looks pretty clean but I haven't really got too close to it yet..

I don't think there is a single 7.3L on the road today that is worth that much, in my opinion(well maybe if it had less than 100 miles on the entire rig ). Is it XL, XLT, Lariat?

Anyway, check the basic stuff out. Try to pull any codes, take it for a test drive to make sure the trans is in good working order, flip the oil cap upside down to check for blow-by, etc... There is only so much you can check without really diving into the truck.

I hope it is spectacular, I just bought a E99 F350 Single rear CC LB with 5th wheel, Leer topper, AIS and some other extras with 67k miles for under 10k, but then again mine is also 2wd. I would be looking around your area for comperable rigs to see what the value might be though.

99 F350 CCLB 67k miles.

Sold: 01 Dodge cummins ECLB a few more mods to 353hp

Sold: 97 F250 SCLB, 5 speed 2wd. minor mods to 327hp

See a pattern? next I will have to find one of those 6 door jobbers...

$14,000 max if it's 4wd in absolutely mint condition with no blowby and no oil leaks/weeps.

if it has an automatic that hasn't been rebuilt yet, you're probably going to be rebuilding it pretty soon.

I went and looked at the truck today, talked to the guy at the lot it's at I know him and he sells a lot of trucks. Anyway one owner(he knows the owner)guy is 72yrs old used it to pull his fifth wheel to florida. It's got 72,000 miles leather brand new tires it's really clean looks to be well maintained. He's got 21,900 on it. I know that's high he said he has room to work. I considered asking what he would do on a trade for my 06 6.0 with 45,000 miles(it's got a rebuilt title) but I ain't gonna give it away. The 6.0 just scares me. What would be a good trade?
