Max boost 21psi w/o wastegate-- Normal?

Hey all...

I've done a few things to my 2000 F350 PSD-- DIY intake, muffler delete w/ stock exhaust, gauges, and recently disconnected and pluged the wastegate lines... deffinitly increased the boost, was seein' a max of about 16-17 psi at WOT, and the EGT never got over 1000, but now I'm up to a max of 21 psi, EGTs can hit 1050, but I gotta be pullin' hard...

I've heard that 22 psi is the magic number before defueling, and trouble codes. Don't think I've hit that yet...

I'm not sure if I should leave the wastegate unpluged... the "whoosh" I hear as the truck upshifts is not as smooth, and at times has a "chh-chh-chh" sound to it, where as it used to be smooth, 'air-being-released' sound... is this a problem? Am I hurting my motor/turbo?

Just looking for any feedback or input... Thanks!

Sounds about normal.

Make sure all of your boost tube clamps are tight.

EDIT: Your EGT's seem a bit high to me for being stock. I never hit 1k until I started tuning the truck. But every truck is a bit different.

It all looks normal for a stock truck. My EGT's stock would get as high as 1100* when towing.

The sound you are talking about is turbo stall when the truck up shifts, It's normal.

Man, you should her my turbo bark on the upshift.....or maybe that is the tires barking...or both. Oh well it sounds cool as heck....LOL....
