97-03 7.3L DIESEL RECALL

Just got a message in the mail that they are recalling and replacing camshaft position sensors. Also you maybe available to get a refund if you have already replaced yours.

This is such nonsense......about time they recalled it! How long have we been talking about this issue, how many replacement CPS's have the ford dealers sold, you think they would have put two and two together before now.

John Wood took care of my CPS. I trust him much more than the dealer, most of which don't know what a PSD is, much less a CPS.

I had mine done yesterday. Can anyone tell me is Ford just replacing them with the exact same part or have they beefed it up somehow so these failures shouldn't happen in the future? If they use the exact same part then presumably I should be carrying a spare one with me at all times as I have seen suggested prior to this recall.
