He checked my complete truck in under 20 minutes and replaced the cps. Wow he is really quick. Especially since the truck didn't get right in the shop. I don't know Marc my brother didn't get out of the dealer for a couple of minutes because of traffic and was called less than 15 minutes later and was told it was done.

I realize that is how they make money but I have had it checked twice in the last two months and neither person has said anything about the brakes. The safety inspector can face jail time if he is passing cars that don't meet the states requirements. I would have thought he would have told me about any possible problem because he also gets paid by what he can sell on the vehicles he sees. I have no squeeks rattles or vibrations stepping on the brakes. I just don't understand how he checked everything in that short of time. As I said when I check it if it is bad it will get replaced.

Yeah I know Marc but not everyone is superman.

I'm not saying he is trying to cheat me because I haven't looked at them myself. It just seems a little funny that he had all of the parts right there waiting on him. Especially since two other shops who are notoriuos for trying to get people to buy stuff they don't need didn't try to sell them to me.. He could be right on with his diagnosis but this shop isn't very trustworthy to begin with. I only took it there because it was in town and didn't want to have to get the truck towed since it first stuttered on tuesday. It stuttered twice in the morning and then died completely in the evening in rush hour traffic

I'll have to let you know I'm busy this weekend in a home show and then Monday I go out of town for two weeks, and no I'm not taking the truck.

Man, I'm glad I ran across this thread. I have a 7 moth old son & if something were to happen Ford (whoever) would never hear the end of it.

Where can I signup to get this e-mail or mail for whenever Ford does their re-calls? Plus would like to check if there has been any other recalls that Imight want to know about.

Well here is a good start on finding the recalls. Marc works at a Ford dealership. I checked my recall on fords website and I think the cps is the only one they have for our trucks right now.

The guy at the Dealership gave me a sheet that said the CPS was the only recall ever on my truck.
If this one cashes out is that a warrenty part???
To the guy who thinks his kid is going to die bc his CPS fails...you must have never had one go out. They usually fail pulling up to stop signs etc...the only way your kid could die is if you cut off a dump truck and the truck killed under acceleration (which neither of my CPS failures ever did.)

Hey brother the techs on here don't like the s word in peoples posts. Don't expect any help from them if you have problems, and you may not get any from other members. Yes the cps can fail while driving in traffic mine did it a 65mph. The truck shut off for about 5 seconds and was enough to slow me to 55mph. So the guy being concerned about his kid is legit.

Maybe it has not been a "huge Problem" i have not had it happen on my truck, although my current employer and the last one have all PSD's and they have both had problems...I definately think that the car companys put a lot of financial research into making a recall, and it is probably an issue before they decide its financially worth doing.

I have heard that they upgraded the sensor however, worked out the kinks.
