its a decently big deal.... cam sensors are known to fail in 97-03 7.3's regularly enough to cause a safety hazard.. the hazard is....if the truck dies....so does power breaks and power steering... ford is recaling the sensors and replacing them with sensors from a new manufacturere thats suposed to be more reliable... |

if you did it yoruself...they will just refund the sensor price... if it was done at a dealer they will refund the full repair price... |

Im under 100k and no one believes it.Its a 99.![]() A second vehicle ,used for towing.Whats the big deal. I do everything myself, with help of course.

My brother took my truck in and dropped it off yesterday theyhad it done with in a half hour. Then he tells me later that they say I need all new brakes and rotors and they just happen to have all of those parts in hand. He told them no thanks. What I don't get is why didn't the tire shop or the safety inspection reveal any of these problems? They were both done with less than 3000 miles and 2200 were on two long trips of 1100 miles. I guess I'm going to have to check them myself and see.

i dropped mine off tonight, and of course (like any shop) they offer a free inspection. we'll see what they find. But what makes me mad, they won't swap out my spare CPS. what the hell?!?! if Ford knows its a bad part, why would they want it on the street? i don't have a receipt, so they won't refund my money. what have the rest of you done?

My brother has to put his old one back in the truck and then get it replaced. He will then have a spare one he already bought in the glove box. I just don't know why they even checked anything but the cps on mine. They weren't asked too. If my brakes are really bad I have no problem replacing them and will probably send them a message thanking them for letting me know.

most techs get paid based on "flat rate" hours.... we get paid by the job.......so the more jobs we sell...the more we make.... he took extra time he technically didnt have to in order to look your truck over.......hoping to sell an extra job.....its what we all do. I sold a water pump and HPOP o rings the other day doing the same thing.....i also sold brakes today on a CPS recall.... |
