I actually asked about that when I had mine done and they said there is so many variables that go into a recall.... I know BS, but just because 20 people have an issue doesn't mean it's a problem and they said part of the problem may have been being buying them from parts stores, so Ford had no real idea.... Just a thought.

It is a redesign component from IHC for Ford. Seems the heat and oil breakdown was too quick and someone had a veiner over it.
My replacement took twenty minutes, I have sent Ford CRC(Customer Response Center) or something like that a copy of all my replacements, nothing back from them as yet as far as money or word. I got the repay notice letter from the Ford Dealership when I had the recall done.

Yeah....no need to wait on a notice. Drop by and get in line. I had mine done during Christmas holidays when FORD was installing another rebuilt tranny. (Truck seems to eat a transmission every 12,000 miles.)

I don't want to read all the responses, but you don't need a letter. They will do it w/o the letter. I just got mine yesterday. TFG, it was dying on the freeway and killing if I touched the brake to take it out of park this weekend/on the way home from work Friday.

My thoughts EXACTLY!!! It must have taken some serious lawsuit to get them to send out the recall.

We all have had to keep an extra one in the glove box just like a spare fuse. Don't know about the rest of you, but I was hauling my horse trailer, with a horse in it when mine went out. SCARY!

I am sure glad they finally got on the ball with this one.
