Best tranny valve body??

What’s the best valve body for clean shifts?
The ones I hear about seem to be;
1. John Woods ~$230 John Wood Valve Body
2. ATS ~$320 Restoring the layer structure...
3. BTS ~$???
4. IPT ~$200 IPT Performance Transmissions Torque Converters and Transmission Parts for Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Import vehicles

Is a valve body better than a transgo tugger shift kit? (I put one of them in my old tranny and was not impressed)

My tranny either shifts so hard you think the drive shaft is going to snap or it feels like it is slipping at very high power levels. It is a new factory rebuilt tranny with about 18,000 miles on it, it defiantly shifts much firmer than my original tranny but still is not “right”. It works pretty good stock but doesn’t like it when I turn the chip up. Any suggestions or opinions???

I would go John Woods. I called Jody from DP and he told me that he has been working with JW and his chips are already set up for a JW VB.

To add another side, I've spoken with Jody many times also. He had nothing bad to say about BTS. Jody was most concerned about a properly shifting/built transmission, not who built it. Either way, with JW or BTS, you get the best out there.
