156K on the original motor AND tranny. Only improvement mods (see signature) for longer life. '02 is a good year, but a changeover one. That's the year they switched from Dana 50 front axle to a Dana 60. I can't remember if they switced from forged to PMR internals in '01 or '02. If you're looking at an '02 you might as well go to an '03 with all of the changes and upgrades before the switch to the 6.0 (unless you're looking at a specific truck).

knock on my wooden head, I have 282k on OE Engine and E100OD trans, just keep it serviced and work the bejesus out of it occasionally. Edge Evo about the time Low Sulfur fuel hit and I lost economy but only bumped 70hp. Still has OE exhaust and I still get 16+mpg low end 18+ high end.

Really? I thought they switched to PMRs in late 00 or really early 01.

yeah they switched PMRs in early 01....cant remember the technical date....but some 00's have PMR's and then some late 01's have forged.....02 is definatly PMR's but with the 01 and 00's its a real gamble.....
