Depending on where you look, you either can't have tint on the front windows at all or it has to let in 75% of the light. So depending on who you ask, it's legal and illegal at the same time

That being said, I have 30% on the fronts and I believe the factory on the rear is 20%

Factory rear is 18% I believe, no idea why it's such an odd number. I have factory rear tint and plan to go 20 in the front, any front tint is illegal in NJ but cops can tell I'm a firefighter by my department plate and my grill lights do I shouldn't have any trouble.

Do yourself a favor and don't tint it yourself. It will look crappy at best. The tint you buy off ebay isn't nearly the quality of the stuff at the tint shops. It rips, tears, and fades very easily. Speaking from experience here...

If you want dark, go 5% all the way around. I have 18% on my front sides and still have trouble seeing out at night.

I've got 20% over the factory tint on the back window, 5% on the sides and top of the windshield and 50% down the rest of the windshield

I buy mine by the foot at a local tint shop. Madico is the name brand. Auto part store tint should be taken from the box and thrown directly in the trash. It's garbage. It won't stick and turns purple in a year.

I have 20% over the factory in the back and 5% on my driver/passenger doors. It's illegal to have any in your side doors in Michigan but it's a fixit ticket. The rear windows can be as dark as you want.

The 20% - 5% combo works well together.

If you want dark, that's the way I would go. If a shade lighter is more your style, I would go 35% on the rear and 20% on D/P doors.

I run 15% on front doors and it match`s the rear very well. Pay to have it done right.
