Factory CAC boots?

Was there an upgrade between E99 and 2002 model trucks?

My e99 has blue, I went to the junkyard yesterday to get a new passenger side CAC pipe due to mine being damaged by the wire loom rubbing on it.

Find an 02 with black boots and at first I assumed it had aftermarket boots, but they are the same company as my blue ones. They are also slightly different. I got them along with the CAC pipe anyway put my clamps on (they looked pretier) and I used the black boots because they felt less deteriorated than my blue ones.

The Riffraff boots aren't factory I'm talking about the factory boots. Seems they made a change after 99. These later boots feel better, but they are also 4 years newer

Sorry lol. I don't know the reasoning for the color change, ford probably calls it an "updated boot"

My googling is just telling me that the "y" pipe hoses are smaller. Not finding anything about the intercooler side. The color change could have simply been for that reason. Help make sure techs order the right set.
