Mixed driving = 16.36MPG.The 4.10 rear axle hurts,but that's not too shabby i guess.
I was stuck at 14.71MPG till i added the Ford AIS.Didn't think it would help, but it certainly did!

I just made a 1700 mile round trip from Louisiana to South Carolina and back, running solo. I got a solid 18.5 mpg while running steadily around 70 mph. My diff has 3.73:1 gearing and I have a BAKLiner "rolltop" bed cover. It hides my fifth-wheel hitch. When towing, I get anywhere from 9 to 12.5 mpg, depending on how big a hurry I'm in, and whether I'm headed TO the Rockies or FROM the Rockies.

I got nearly 17-18 empty the other day on the highway. Somewhere around 13-14 in and around driving and about 11.5-12 towing about 6.5K. Thats with my chip set on 50hp by the way.

i get 15 to 16 empty no matter if in town or on freeway and 9 to 11 no matter what i tow or where i tow it or how fast itow it. it doesnt matter if i run stock on 60 horse tow setting or 80 horse performance setting. i did lose 1 mpg when they went to ulsf. doesent even change from winter fule to summer fuel. best ever 18.1 when motor only had 700 miles on it. at 92000 now

Best highway tank 17 mpg no towing or weight in back 2 adults and 2 kids under 5yrs old in the cab.

Average mixed driving 14-15 mpg

All in town driving 12-13 mpg

Worst tank ever 10 mpg pulling 24 foot camptrailer, 4 wheeler in the bed with lots of junk packed in every cranny. But it was one fun hunting trip!

I have had a lot of people claim 20 mpg or over but no one has done it with my fat a$$ in the truck yet!

Have 2 friends and an in-law swear over 20 mpg 1-'99 4dr 4wd, 1-'01 ex cad 4wd 1-'02 4dr 4wd all with 7.3. So we took their trucks on a couple of fishing or spotting trips. My a$$ must weigh ALOT since they all only got 15 mpg when I was in the truck.

Well, with my fat a$$ in my truck, I just took a trip from wells me to gardiner me at 55mph the whole way, and my lie-o-meter says 21.5. Thats with a fresh fill up, and no additive yet. I'll buy that tomorrow and throw it in, gets metter mpg with diesel kleen. Come on up, I bet with both our fat a$$es in it, I'd get at least 21.4!

I like to allow mine to warm up for a few minutes prior to taking off...I drive 10 miles each way to work, usually getting around 14 mpg. On my long trips to the beach, driving 65 to 70 mph, I am usually around 18 or 19 mpg...on a 180 mile trip

I should have clarified that my trailer is a 38' fifth-wheel that weighs just under 14K lbs. and requires 13' 3" clearance. When towing, I use an UltraTrail Eze II wing to break the wind in front of the trailer.
