Should i swap my Edge for a TS 6

I have a 99. 7.3 with 15k on a brand new crate engine. When i purchased the truck it had an Edge evolution programmer installed and i left it in after the engine swap. The truck is mostly stock except air intake and mbrp 4-6inch exhaust. I've been debating if I should intall a TS 6 pos chip. My question is would there be a noticible performance increase even on a stock truck, to justify the $300 bucks. Also, ive read that the edge could be hard on the tranny compared to other tunes. any truth to this? Im looking at ordering from KTPerformance and they offer a "Smoke" setting. Now before i get called stupid by some politically correct anti smoke nazi, im not gonna be chokin out old ladies on the sidewalk but im a fan of rollin coal when were out playin in the field and showing off. Anyone have any experiance with a "smoke" setting, espicially on a stock engine with stock injectors. Is it that setting even worth adding? What settings do you recommend to include for fuel economy, daily driving and play? Thanks for any info.

I didn't even read your whole post.
But the answer is Google is your friend
And yes a six position chip is better than an edge
BUT a custom tuned aid position chip is thee BEST!
some tuners- PHP, Tony Wildman, Gear Head, Beans, etc.

Once again, Google and this form will be your friend.
All this stuff has been cover a billion times
