glow plug soliniod question

is the glow plug relay/soliniod the same as the ford old style fender mounted starter solinoid? the parts guy that i deal with pretty much everyday told me he has sold the $15 solinoids in place of the $70 version and one has never come back. the two solinoids look exactly the same...any comments?

I was thinking the same thing. It's just a solenoid the pcm controls what it does.
