is synthetic oil bad?

I had heard that running synthetic oil in a diesel engine isn't good for it cause it doesn't have the organic compounds that remove carbon deposits from a diesel. Is this true? I know lots of people run syn, but i am ready for an oil change and i wanted to run syn. I just wanted to see what you guys thought about that.

I have ben running Amsoil synthetic oil for 20+ yrs now. Have 45,000 hrs on a 855 Cummins, and 47,000hrs on a 4bd1 Izuzu, Had valve covers off both engines recently and they still look new . No by-pass filter and 1000hr oil changes. Both engines are getting a little tired now, but thats a lot of hrs!

I'm a believer in synthetic!
