The 4R100 is actually a 3 speed with overdrive and a torque convertor lockup that feels like another gear.

The Torque Shift is actually a 6 spd( My tech showed me his manual) but it never goes straight through every gear, it will skip one every time so the Gov. wont let them call it a 6spd but it does have 6 true gears. That is what my tech showed me in his shop manual and I think I have seen Marc state it in another post too. I could be wrong but I don't think I am.

I like it also - sometimes I wished it locked up sooner!
