ford 7.3 recall

so i got the new petersons offroad mag in the mail 2 day and noticed a little article that says that ford is recalling all 99-03 7.3's due 2 cps so dose this mean i can jsut take my truck 2 the dealership and get a new one free?

the recall is for 97-03 7.3 Diesels in regards to the CPS failure.

You sure can. I got mine around Christmas time when Ford also hooked me up with another remanufactured tranny. I only got 12,000 miles out of the last one.

Yep doesn't matter if you are an original owner or not. If the recall hasn't been done on your vin then yes its free of charge with the dealer doing the install

CPS = cam position sensor

it tells the computer what position the engine is in. if it fails, the engine shut downs and will not restart.
