shocks, baja style?

hey, i've been lookin at a f-350 and im runnin on fough roads and in feilds alot. the f350 that im lookin at has a 6 inch susp. lift in it, i thought i could take that out and but some shocks that would give me the lift and give me a smoother ride also any one put in aftermarket shocks in there trucks that are like 6500 bucks for them all? thanks!

shocks alone wont give you the lift you need..... and what kind of aftermarket shocks are you looking at that are 6500? the bypass valves ones?

Well with a leaf spring front suspension is only going to be so smooth, unless you replace the springs with some Nationals or Deavers

I assume that you were talking about the black F250 with the Rockstars on it??? If so that looks like a simple 4in lift that you can get from a number of places.......no you can't replace the leafs with shocks, but you can do the Z-Link from Skyjacker or I thing Fabtech has a coil over conversion as well, but your talk some serious money for either

im getting confused.... you want to take out the leafs for shocks? if you want to take out the leafs your gonna have to make a 4 link system for it ... you have to have a way to hold the axle in place.. you cant just do that with shocks....
