How do i fix my mpg reading on overhead console

My overhead console MPG always reads 14.6, hasnt moved since i got the truck, how do I fix this. the temp and miles left till empty seem pretty accurate though.

4inch straight pipe, dumped
gauges- boost, trans temp, egt

Reset it. While on MPG, hold both buttons and then it'll reset to 0. It won't be accurate though.

Because they really aren't anyway, and mods only amplify it's inaccuracy. Mine reads 13-14 and I get 15ish currently.

I know this is a old thread but is the console accurate enough to be a point of basis. Say if mine says 22 and I actually get 18, change the exhaust and it goes up by one does that mean the other more and likely went up also

Mine says I get 14.1. With intake and exhaust, I get 15.5 avg. The OTC stays the same usually.

I had one in my 2003 F250 Lariat 7.3. It was never close to accurate. They are just fluff.
