wastegate question

today i unplugged my wastegate pressure line to see if there was any difference......there was no difference!.......still max's out at roughly 15-16 psi......what's up with that?......wastegate stuck?.....did all my turbo hoses(clean and tighten) but seems i should be getting a little more boost than that.......you hafta hold it on the floor for a bit to get to 16 psi......any suggestions?

a stock stroker isn't going to produce much more boost than that, actually, that may be pretty good on average.

you start adding a chip, exhaust, intake, etc

you will start seeing higher boost levels!!

this is the right place to learn how to mod your truck, just browse around the forums, you'll get all the info you need!!

I drove a big truck all over the USA (kenworth t800) and it never had a waste gate for the turbo. Why do the ford have to have one in the first place

You should be ale to see around 20 PSI stock without the wastegate hose connected, it should make a difference for sure. I did at first have my boost reading from the MAP line, it was all over the place, now it is from the AIH plug, or rather from where it was. The air intake horn is a better place to check the pressure.
