How to size up for new shocks!

So i have a 2003 CCSB that i installed a pro comp 8.5" spring lift on. I am starting to get a bit of tire tread chop on the rear tires and i was told this is caused by worn out shocks so i guess it is time to replace.

First question: I am going to remove the factory 2" blocks that are in the rear so that my truck will sit level. Will this effect the size length of shock that i need to get?

Second question: How do i properly measure to figure out what size of a shock i need for my setup? I plan on getting a set of reservoir shocks. Can anyone tell me how to measure to get the proper size shock? or point me in the right direction to some good shocks for my setup?

Thanks in advance for the help.

the RSX9000 is a good adjustable shock. After you remove your rear lift blocks, set a jack under the frame or bumper and lift until the suspension is at full travel. That will give your your extended measurement.

I can get you whats needed...I just need the installed length measurement bolt to bolt of the shocks with the truck on the ground, I like to insure correct fitment.
