turbo noise between shifts

When my truck is shifting while im getting on it, my turbo makes this ch ch ch ch sound really quickly. I dont know alot about it but i dont think it is surge is it, maybe turbo stall? The is the only time it does this is between shifts when im getting on it. Will an ATS housing fix this?

Someone told me on here that it was probably turbo stall. i just want to find out what it is for sure so i dont waste my money on a ATS housing, unless that would do something for my problem as well

Yup, that is turbo "surge" sometimes called stall. ATS housing will fix it.
Money well spent vs. destroying your turbo

i dont think its that "turbo fart" that just sounds like air going back out the intake when you let off the gas? My boost guage doesnt flutter at all when its making this noise thats why i didnt think it was surge?? its definitley a ch chc ch sound or a shh shh shh sound that happens very quickly.

Sounds like im going to be purchsing a ATS hoising in the near future. Does anyone else make a housing like the ATS. I though i read High Tech Turbo makes one as swell. Im guessing the ATS one is the best since everyone uses that one.

Does it do it when it shifts or while building boost?

The shift isn't nearly as bad as when it does it while building boost.

Different driving habits, wicked wheel, ATS housing, or a new upgraded turbo will help out
