Just wanted to say my truck does the same thing and someone here on the org. described it like a pressure cooker sound, popping off steam, I was told a neww comprressor wheel(wiked wheel) will fix the problem. O a whole new turbo upgrade if you have the extra cash lyin around.

My 7.3 does it to on the 3rd to 4th and 4th to overdrive shifts. Sounds like air brakes on semis.

After I installed my open element intake, my truck was making the swooooosh sound during shifts - put a wicked wheel in and it got rid of most of it but when shifting into OD, it still swoooshes. I'd like to get an ATS housing but it's freakin expensive.

yea i wanna get one as well, but yea they are really expensive, sometimes you can find one used from somebody on here or another forum, but even then there still usually anywhere from 300-350. Maybe i'll splurge and buy one with my tax money along with a turbo master wastegate

Great thread. I don't mean to hi jack it, but I'm having the same problem when I pull my raptor th. 02 7.3, AFE intake, 4" exhaust, diablosport predator on tow tune. What's an ATS housing? Does this spitting hurt the truck as I always back out of it when this happens. It really scares the crap out of me when it goes on. Thanks in advance.
