STUPID FACTORY ALARM!!!

Okay, this thing has a factory alarm, be it an option, or what... I dont know.

I can tell you this. If I turn the key off, I have to hit the unlock button just to start the damn truck again... has a starter kill... pretty damn annoying....

NOW, last week or 2... it has been randomly "going off" when I try to disable it... and it isnt wanting shut off....

Last 2 days, it has been set off EVERYTIME I try to disable it to get in...

WTF?

I like the keyless entry, and the starter defeat is GREAT...BUT... This is making me crazy.

Is there something wrong with it?

I know NOTHING about ford alarms.

Well, pretty sure its factory... uses the ford key fob...

And there is a blue module under the dash, with Ford, and a ford p/n on it.

Unless its something that ties INTO the factory keyless entry???

I dont know. But, I was trying to bypass it, by just manually locking the doors when I got out... but that is arming it as well. I cant freaking win. Making me nuts.

I had problems with mine also, call the Ford Dealer and find out who installed the system and he will be able to tell
you how to reset it or disable it.

Yes

what you are refering to is a Ford installed aftermarket alarm. It is something that gets put on at the dealership and is usually a nightmare when there is a problem. I have worked on a few and they are not fun especially when the guy that put them in cut corners.

I am thinking along those same lines..

BUT, I am NOT the original owner of this truck... and the dealership I bought it from has been less than helpful.

The service department, I have no issues with...but..

So, how are these usually installed?

Well

Its a nightmare to be honest. The directions come with them if your lucky and the company that makes the alarms are no help. I've delt with them. Its just a bunch of splicing into door lock wires, and modules.

The dealership in this instance... ESPECIALLY the sales and finance departments...

I will NOT be bringing them business, or recommending anyone to them.

Hmm... so, the blue module under the dash, IVO the steering column, that isnt anything? I really need to get in there, and figure this mess out.

I have no way of knowing at what point the alarm was installed.
