7.3 lost power

hi lost power and running rough , sounds like only four cylinders. mechanic says it is the ecu failed but why ??? any advice would be great.

Look at the wiring harness on the injectors. Pull the valve covers and make sure you got a good connection there.

Change the oil and oil filter before you do anything else, as "bad" can cause our trucks to run bad due to the fact that the injection system works off high pressure oil, if that doesn't work have someone with a scan tool do an injector kill test to find out if you have any injectors not firing or if the are just firing weakly! I agree, an oil change at this point isnt a bad idea....but i doubt the PCM is bad. I would bet on it being ether a disconnected under valve cover harness or a bad injector or two..

when was your last oil change and fuel filter change??

Don t feel that your the only one I m going through the same type of thing I had to leave my truck and toy hauler About 130 miles away" no fun " It was donig the same thing They told me I had 3 injectors showing bad
