Can you describe some better symptoms? Like is it chugging, smoking, smell fuel, no power when foot on pedal, etc...
Plus a list of any mod's you have would help.

Have you tried jumping it off your other truck? I've replaced the starter in my '99 last fall, it got slower and slower, then nothing.

yea, its getting plenty of juice, Ive tested it even at the starter..
but a weak starter? you may have somthing there.

is that a common thing for diesels?

i have a few but never had any problems, im a gas engien guy, and i had the starter in my 77 buick hears work untill 3 of the brushes wore past the holding screw and snapped off and the forth was never connected.

everything wears out at some point. If it has plenty of juice, and the solinoid is good, then it can only be the starter.
