Thumbs down busted rod under 110K miles

Anyone konw if a busted rod in a 7.3 with under 110K miles is common????

Haven't opened the motor up yet but there is a 2" diameter hole in the side of the block. Truck has had regular maint, just alot of highway miles under 3K miles of towing a 42' camper.

Amazed and disappointed...

Louise

WOW. That superchip tuner must put out the power....

Bummer to hear. I know a guy, Joey from Terminator, that broke a rod driving down the freeway in his 95. Sometimes it happens and no one knows why. The down side is you have PMR's which are a weak point to begin with.
