Mine has a drain plug on the tranny pan and one on the torque converter and after a full drain it takes about 17 to fill it back up.

The VB is where it get's messy, because there is no way to get the fluid out that sits on top of it!! But simply flushing the trans fluid shouldn't be a mess at all. Did you shift through the gears like you were suppose to? With my 6.0 cooler mine holds right at 20 quarts so for me that would mean I still had a gallon of old fluid in there and I would never settle for that. Not sure why you didn't pump another couple quarts through it for a full flush. Your trans isn't going to die from this, you should be fine but it's not ideal.
You'll be okay.

for some reason the hose setup i was using was not working, it kept shooting back out the backside by the clamp, adjusted it several times, i just was at my wits end cuz some stuff went wrong installing my vb and just wanted to get it together and be done, my patience had ran out. Now would it make sense to flush a couple more gallons out cuz i have a couple more gallons of the schaeffer left, or doesnt it matter now that its now all mixed together. I can put the other two gallons or so i have left in there if its gonna help.
