Hi,
Any one has the diagram of the belt install for the dual alternator 2000, powerstroke 7.3 ? One of the alternators bearings just got stucked and the belt was cutted. The motor bay was painted and the diagram is not in there. Please, I have to get the ambulance going... Kind regards, MArcelo Tassara |

Just more capacity. Dual alternators is an option on all PSD Superdutys.
Sorry I can't help with the belt diagram. |

Hi and thanks for your reply.
Well, the ambulance package comes with double alternators as the ambulance must be able to deal a lot with electronic equipments. Lights, siren, DC to AC converters, etc. means a lot of DC current. Actually the ambulance has 4 80 amps batteries on it. The alternator have more than 200 amps capacity workint together. I know that you can also ask for it as a dealer optional for the vehicle I really appreciate your help. If you or anybody else is able to send me the diagram sooner as I must have the vehicle working ASAP. Kind regards Marcelo Tassara |

Ok... took a few pic's, and none came out clear enough to even try to figure out how to post or email them to you... however, I'll discribe it clearly...
Starting at the bottom, main crank pulley, going clockwise, route the belt up and over a idler pulley just above the crank, and towards the pass side of the truck, then down to the lower, pass side alt pulley, then almost straight up to the tentioner pulleys where it will go up and over the top of the one on the pass side, down and under the "other half" of the twin tentioner pulleys, and then back up and towards the A/C compresser, over the top of it, and then down and under the top idler pulley that is above the water pump, and over to the driver side alt pulley, and then down under the power steering pump, and then over the top of the water pump, and finaly back down to the crank... Hope this helps... |
