keyless entry pad install

I have a keyless entry pad i want to install on my 00 f250 i was told that i have to take it to the dealer to find out the code so i can reprogram or can i find the number myself somewhere? is this a hard install and the pad i have just as a plug on the end where would this plug in?

If I'm not misspoken it is somewhere under the dash. Not sure though.

Hey if you get it figured out get a list on parts and pieces and ease of installation. My brother would love to do this also. Our parents have it on the their Ex and he is jealous.

my buddy has that on his 07 psd and i went to go drive it and he said the keys are in it and heres the code i forgot the code(got distracded) and i tryed like 4 different codes and it open when i pressed a random one that i later found out was totally wrong. so the owner went out and pressed like 4 or 5 random codes and it opened for him to. i wouldnt trust them after that.
