First Deisel
Had the chance to get a F250. So I sold the old 98 Z71, which had been a decent truck and bought my wifes cousins 02 F250 Lariat Supercab shortbed, 4x4, 6 speed,Powerstroke. It has a dent on the tailgate and one in the fr. bumper but not bad. the rest of it is in real good shape except for a couple of small burn holes on the carpet. I'm attacking the smoke smell as we speak. he had a Banks Stinger Plus installed afew years ago, so I don't know what it ran like stock but asitis it,s got some get up and go. Got it for 18500 with 62000 on it so I think I did alright. From checking up on air filters it seems not to many are happy with K&N which is what it has. I replaced it today as the one in it was filthy and after cleaning it with the kit I noticed place cotton had been distorted and ythere was just screen ,small but I didn't like it. Fill me in on the K&N and who makes a better replacement. I saw mentioned AFE. Looking foward to taking it to the hunting camp ,411 miles ought to give me a good idea how it likes the highway. Well back to the smoke removal and I gues I'll stay away from Mcree Ford and get reamed by Sanddollar in Galveston.

Congradulations on the new truck! and Welcome to the site. You will find lots of helpful people and information here.
The AFE replacement filter would be a great filter to use, but there are many options. True Flow makes a very nice fome filter that might be something for you to look at if your in a heavy sand area. Doesnt flow the best at first, but it filters good longer because it is so thick. Check out this video its a pretty big file so it may take some time to download. If that doesnt work its also listed on one of our pages here LINK Anyway, good luck with the truck! See ya around. If you need anything give us a call or one of the other great vendors that support this site. Patrick |

From what I've read, the AIS does the best job of filtering. It's about $200, easy to install.

I'm not to good with the digital camera or the computer but somehow I managed to get a pic of my truck and put in my garage. Without my wifes help. Will wonders never cease. Any how when I get the leveling kit installed I'll post an after pic from the same place. I'm going to go with the Donahoe spring pack.
