thought i fixed the problem
Ok I just had a thread about my backup lights. i disconnected an extension for my 4 pin trailer light plug. it must have only fixed the problem temporarily. now its not working again. I checked all the fuses and they are good. i even disconnected the harness for the 7 pin. then i also replaced the sensor that screws into the transmission. i dont know what to do now???

Umm, sorry the trailer plug trick didn't work...Is there a relay under the dash or hood for these trucks? I haven't looked for one myself yet.

ok i got underneath the truck with it in reverse and the key on. i took the sensor out of the transmission and grounded it. i could hear the relay ticking so i know that the wiring problem is after the relay. whats my best cours of action from here? any ideas. do the trailer plugs really have anything to do with the backup lights located on the trucks tail lights??

I know if you have the 7 pin, one of the pins is a back-up light for the trailer. I have never used one except for my LED strip under my gate.
This is starting to puzzle me. I am going to have to think on it. Sorry, but here's a for ya at least.

HAHAHA, I fixed that sh*t for real this time. talk about one tiny little wire who hid behind the spare f'ing everything up. a pair of wire strippers, some wire caps, a sh*tload of electrical tape, 6 pack of beer, and half can of skoal later my reverse lights are workin again.
